Social LifeOur students come to this country not only to learn English but to see all the famous places they have heard of in London and perhaps visit other parts of the United Kingdom. They also want to meet other young people - preferably English! - and make new friends. Our social programme is an important feature of the school. Coach outings are arranged twice a term - on Sundays, when most of our students are free - and include visits to Bath, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and Stratford-upon-Avon. They are full-day excursions at reasonable prices always accompanied by a teacher. They often include a guided tour with professsional guides. Theatre visits are also arranged two or three times a term. These are visits to highly acclaimed musical shows which are easy to enjoy, especially for those with only little English. For those whose English is good there are of course all the possibilites of the classical or modern theatre in London. A social evening is held near the beginning of each term to which all students are invited so new friendships can be made between students who may attend school at different times. Coffee, tea and cakes are provided free. Student evenings are also held every week on a Wednesday as part of a social club where again students have an opportunity to make new friends. Tea-breaks - even these allow students to mix freely as the students take their tea-breaks in one large room where all nationalities and all levels of English meet up!
A Christmas party is our special annual event to which all students (around 300) are invited - the students each bring some national dish and we provide the wine - and a great time is had by all!
